To be eligible for this service, you must currently receive garbage collection from the City of Charlotte. Residents may schedule a bulky waste collection of no more than four cubic yards of uncompacted trash by visiting /garbageschedule and click on the online request form. Waste Pro will provide one blue recycling collection cart and one green garbage collection cart per single family household. If residents prefer to have more than this, they must incur the charges themselves and this is the only time they would ever be billed directly. The collection schedule varies based on the location in Davidson.
Yard Waste Collection
Residents are allowed up to 20 bags per week. Bags cannot be larger than 40 gallons in size and cannot be more than 50 pounds in weight. Limbs cut less than six feet in length and four inches in diameter are also collected. The total amount of yard trimmings cannot exceed four cubic yards. Recycling is available to all Davidson single and multi-family households through a contract between the town and Waste Pro. In addition to recycling, Waste Pro provides garbage, yard trimmings and bulky waste collection.

Christmas Tree Collection Schedule
Services will collect trash, recycling, yard waste, and bulk items on Friday, December 24th and Friday, December 31st. Limbs and brush should be separated from other waste. These should be left not more than five feet in length and not over six inches in diameter. Never place more than one pile of limbs or brush, approximately four feet high by four feet wide and five feet in length, at the curb each week.
Mecklenburg County Government Holiday Hours
If you live in an unincorporated area of Mecklenburg County, and you desire curbside collection, you will need to contract a residential hauling company. If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service. All of Charlotte operates on the Green/Orange every-other-week schedule for recycling. Artificial trees should be scheduled for bulky item collection. You can schedule bulky items by calling 311, visiting curbit.charlottenc.gov or using the CLT+ app. Solid Waste Services will collect garbage, recycling, yard or scheduled bulk waste on Monday, May 29.
